Can BMW iVentures fix parking? (Albuquerque Journal)
BMW iVentures is tackling one of the biggest remaining driving challenges: finding a parking spot. (Credit: BMW) BMW iVentures officially opened the doors to its New York office this week, and inaugurated their new space with a panel discussion on digital technology and mobility. The $100 million fund has already seeded UK-based Parkatmyhouse.com and MyCityWay, which will lease space in BMW's trendy West Village office. The firm plans to invest primarily in urban mobility technologies to solve the transportation needs of the future. But the hot topic of the evening was, of all things, parking. Speaking in front of an audience made up mostly of VC groupies and techies angling for a free drink and an introduction to fund managers, panelists Ulrich Quay and Alexander Diel seemed to unanimously agree that the practice of finding a place to park your car was 20 years behind the times. In an industry where advanced technology is considered a gate or the ability to take a credit card, there is obviously a lot of room for improvement. "I consider parking to be real estate badly managed," said Kurt Buecheler, vice president of Streetline, which produces networked parking sensors and parking solutions. Because it's ...

T-Mobile MyTouch (black) (Cnet)
Though not without its merits, this most recent addition to the MyTouch family has too many things against it. No one issue was unbearable on its own, but when I add up all my qualms about it, I'd ultimately suggest another phone within its class.

ViewSonic V350 (Pocket Lint)
Double life The number of people with two phones in the UK is quite significant. When you factor in business users, drug dealers and people who are having affairs, it's probably a decent chunk of the market. Those people would all benefit from having a phone with two SIM cards slots.? So enter the ViewSonic V350. It offers support for two 3G SIMs in one, normalish-sized handset. It runs Android 2.2 and so has access to a multitude of apps and access to a large and passionate community. But is it worth considering? ### Design The ViewSonic is neither ugly nor pretty. And it depends at which angle you view it, to which opinion you'll hold of it. From the front, it's stylish enough. There are gently rounded corners and there's a silver and black finish that's a bit different to most handsets we see. The back has a textured finish, and there's a large camera lens, behind which lurks a 5-megapixel sensor. The doubts over its attractiveness stem from its thickness, which is quite considerable. Of course, if you're buying this phone to replace two others, then the size is very unlikely to be a big issue ...

Adobe: here's why Creative Cloud is worth $600 a year (Albuquerque Journal)
Elements of the Creative Cloud (Credit: Adobe Systems) Unimpressed by Adobe Systems' Creative Cloud, its forthcoming $50-per-month subscription plan? Adobe wants to change your mind. The company offered some new details today to show people that the Creative Cloud plan gets people access to more than just the full Creative Suite (CS) Master Collection and tablet-oriented Touch programs. Specifically, according to Scott Morris, senior director product marketing on Adobe's digital media team, there are these elements: The Creative Cloud will include Adobe's Muse and Edge software for creating Web pages. Muse won't be part of the Creative Suite, and Adobe hasn't decided whether Edge will be. When Lightroom 4 is out of its current beta-testing phase, it'll be added to the Creative Cloud subscription, too. Lightroom isn't included in CS. Creative Cloud subscribers will get early access to new features as they're done without having to wait for them to arrive in the official new CS apps. An online social-network community will let people share files, comment on each other's work, and follow each other. Creative Cloud has several other elements, too, including 20GB of online storage that can be used to sync files across ...

Motorola DROID RAZR MAXX review - the best LTE device on Verizon (Mobile Burn)
The new Motorola DROID RAZR MAXX Android smartphone is likely the best 4G device on Verizon for one (very large) reason - it's 3300mAh battery. While we loved the super-thin DROID RAZR, the new MAXX edition is worlds more practical due to its Olympic athlete-like staying power. Michael tells us all about it in this review. Huawei Ideos X3 (Pocket Lint)
Cheap but imperfect Huawei is slowly building a name for itself. If you haven't yet heard it, you will in the next year or so. For a start, the firm has the world's slimmest smartphone in its CES-announced Ascend P1 S (http://www.pocket- lint.com/news/43794/huawei-ascend-p1-s-hands-on). And it seems committed to making the move from backroom hardware - Huawei equipment runs mobile networks the world over - to the customer-facing side. The Ideos X3 is a budget handset, which you can pick up online for around ?130. It's got Android 2.3.4 installed as well as a 3.2-inch screen. It's small, light and clearly aimed at people who care more about having a phone, than having the latest and greatest phone. ### Design To look at, the X3 is much like other Android handsets, while managing to pull off something a little different. For example, there's a home button - a physical one rather than the capacitive type - and three touch-sensitive controls for "back", "menu" and "search" functions. There's not a massive amount different here from any other budget smartphone. There's a headphone jack at the top - a great location for this - along with a power button and, on ...
